Our Story
Every collector knows the feeling: flipping through rows of vinyl, CDs, or DVDs only to get lost in the shuffle. For years, that was the frustration that fueled the idea behind Airwood Design. Founder Craig Osborn was deep into his own record collection one night when he realized there had to be a better way --- a system that organized without taking away from the beauty of the collection itself. Random shelving, plastic tabs and cheap labels weren't cutting it. What he wanted was something functional, durable and, above all, worthy of the music and moves he loved.
That spark became Airwood Design: custom laser-engraved wooden dividers for vinyl records, CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray collections. Each divider is a balance of craft and technology --- thoughtfully designed, cut and sanded from super-refined pdf, then precisely engraved with clean lettering. "It's like vinyl itself," Craig says. "There's this analog warmth in the product, along with the precision detail of the engraving that makes each divider feel timeless."
From the very beginning, collectors noticed the difference. Customers left reviews saying they could finally find what they wanted without breaking their flow, describing how Airwood dividers turned browsing their shelves back into a joy rather than a chore. For many, it wasn't just about storage --- it was about reclaiming the ritual of collecting.
Airwood's philosophy has always been simple: storage should be practical, but it should also be beautiful. These dividers aren't office supplies. They're part of the collection --- tactile, personal, and designed to complement the music, movies, and memories on your shelves.
The company has come a long way since its first batch of dividers, which were rough around the edges but carried the same heart and intent. Today, the process is refined, the finishes are sharper, and the customization options are more flexible than ever. Whether you're a hardcore archivist or a casual fan who just wants a cleaner shelf, Airwood Design makes products that resonate across the spectrum.
And it's not just about organizing --- it's about honoring. As vinyl records, CDs, and DVDs continue their cultural comeback, Airwood's products play a role in celebrating physical media as something more than just a format. They're a way of showing respect for the art, the artists, and the fans who keep these formats alive.
"Airwood Design started as my personal solution," says Craig, "but it's become a conversation with collectors everywhere. I love seeing how people use our dividers in ways I never imagined. That creativity --- from customers, artists, and labels --- is what keeps me excited for what's next."
Airwood Design is more than storage. It's craftsmanship, community, and culture --- designed for the people who know that collections aren't just things you own. They're stories you live with.
